Terms and Conditions

Like most sites, we have a set of rules for what you can use this website for. This applies to calumchilds.com and it's subdomains.

Agreeing to the Terms and Conditions

You agree to the Terms and Conditions when you do the following:

Comments

When you enter a comment on our site (usually on a blog post) you must not say anything that is racist, sexist, offends those in a particular religion, use rude or vulgar language or promote violence. The comment must also not be off-topic. (We will decide whether the comment is acceptable on a case-by-case basis. If it's clearly spam, we'll remove it.)

What we'll do to comments that don't follow the rules

We will remove comments that breach the Terms and Conditions and if you are a multiple offender, we will permanently blacklist the IP address (four numbers that identify the device you're sending it from, say 1.162.213.4. All computers and servers connected to the Internet will have one.) This means you can no longer comment on this website.

Please note that we reserve the right to archive all comments, for backup purposes and to pass them on to the appropiate authorities should we need to.

Privacy

We've got a set of rules on how we deal with your data in our Privacy Policy. By using the site, you agree to this policy.

Our content

We have content on our site, and we have a set of rules of how and when you can use this content. The rules are in the Copyright Policy. By saving, copying or distributing our content in any way, you agree to this policy.

Effective immediately as of 18th March 2023, you must not use any of my own images found on this website to train an AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) machine learning model without my written permission.

Privacy Policy

By navigating through two or more pages on calumchilds.com, you agree to this policy, which describes who collects your data, where it goes and why.

IP Address

When you visit the site, we will log your IP address. This also happens when you make a comment on our blog, only it is tied with your name and email. This is so we can ban those who misuse the comments function to violate the Terms and Conditions.

Matomo Analytics

Matomo is an analytics platform, which respects DNT (Do Not Track) signals and allows you to opt-out of tracking very easily. All data generated by it is stored on our own servers, so it's only subject to this privacy policy. When Matomo records your IP, it replaces the 4th number with a 0 so we don't know your exact location.

The analytics software collects the pages you visited, how you found this site (search, direct entry etc.), where you're visiting us from (this is determined by the language option you set for your browser), how long you spent on each page, device information (operating system, model etc.) and any search queries you carried out using our site search engine.

Opt-out

You can opt-out from Matomo without having to install any plugins or whatnot on your browser. Just follow the instructions in the box below:

(If you're on a mobile device or you can't click the checkbox for whatever reason, click the button below to take you to the opt-out page.) Just a heads-up, this page will reload when you click the checkbox.

Unless it says you have to use your real name, you can use a made-up name, providing it's clean and not offensive (eg. Wingo5315.)

We may also collect your personal information so we can fufill an order, such as your name and address.
